Intro to "San Marco"
Downtown Sarasota Medium-Priced Condos
Posted January 06, 2018
In Sarasota, a reasonably-priced, condominium residence with outstanding amenities in an attractive location can be a difficult item to find.
But, the condominium residences at San Marco offer just that; unique; reasonably priced yet spacious residences, upscale facilities and amenities and a convenient location. Built in 2006 as one of the newer residential developments in Sarasota’s art district, the building’s exterior is reminiscent of its architectural namesake, the Piazza San Marco in Venice, Italy. The first impression you get as you approach San Marco is the graceful arches and balustrades of its terraces and the unique interior walkways lined with plant boxes overflowing with shrubs and greenery.
Located at 1188 North Tamiami Trail, San Marco consists of just twenty-three 3 and 4 bedroom residences with spacious terraces, covered, dedicated parking spaces, a fitness center with sauna, heated pool and spa, and plaza decks with umbrellas. For the pet lover, the complex is pet-friendly. Unit owners, but not renters, may have up to two pets, up to 40 pounds with some restrictions on breeds.
Its limited size means that residents tend to know each other and enjoy each other’s company. And, for convenient shopping, the 1st floor of the complex houses retail establishments of various types including a hair stylist.

It would be a stretch to consider San Marco to be "right in the heart of downtown Sarasota." If you are fit and enjoy walking, you can definitely walk to the shopping, dining, entertainment and cultural venues in the heart of downtown Sarasota, but San Marco residents are more likely to get comfortably to those destinations by automobile or taxi.
Units range from about 1,840 to over 3,850 square feet and sell from the mid to high $400,000 to the $500,000's although the largest units, when available, can sell for prices up to the mid $600,000's.
San Marco condos are rarely for sale given their great location, superb amenities and reasonable prices. But, interestingly, there are three 3 bedroom, 2 ½ bath San Marco units on the market right now ranging in size from 1,843 to 2,093 square feet and priced currently between $495,800 and $529,900. When these units come on the market, they don't remain there for long. If a San Marco residence sounds like the kind of condominium property you’d like to consider, please let me now so I can be on the look-out for one for you.
A residence at the San Marco might just the right fit for you if you would like a lot of space for the money, newer construction and still be "close to downtown Sarasota" but whether a San Marco condo or something else in the Sarasota real estate market is your "cup of tea," I'd be delighted to introduce you to the many attractive Sarasota homes and condos throughout mainland Sarasota and out on our beautiful barrier islands, Longboat, Lido, Bird, Siesta and Casey Key.
If you'd like to know more about Sarasota Florida real estate offerings in Sarasota, itself, out on our barrier islands, in award-winning Lakewood Ranch or in one of our wonderful golf and country club communities, please Contact Me. For an immediate response, call me now at 941.228.9682.
